    Dr Paolo Perna is Senior Researcher and coordinator of the “SpinOrbitronics” research line at IMDEA Nanociencia, and Manager of Nanomagnetism Programme.

    Dr. Perna holds two PhD titles, in Physics and in Material Science (2008). From 2019, he is certified as Full Professor of Theoretical Physics of Matter and of Experimental Physics of Matter by Italian ASN (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale). He holds Certification I3 [I3/2021/1021, total score 10/10) by Ministerio de Universidades, Spain.

    Dr. Adrián Gudín Holgado is a postdoctoral researcher in the SpinOrbitronics group at IMDEA Nanociencia. He received his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics, Nanoscience and Biophysics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in 2022. His research focuses on nanomagnetism, spintronics and spin-orbitronics, combining thin-film growth and UHV surface characterization with magnetic, magnetotransport and synchrotron-based techniques. In addition to his research, he develops experimental instrumentation and measurement automation, combining a strong engineering perspective with innovative approaches to scientific experimentation.

    Guio Sanchez

    Alba Guio began her PhD in the SpinOrbitronics group in December 2023. She studied Physics and a Master in Nanoscience and advanced materials at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Her current research is focused on studying the interfacial interactions due to spin-orbit coupling in heterostructures combining ferromagnetic, heavy metal, two dimensional and ferroelectric materials with the aim of tuning magnetic interactions with electric fields.

    Giuseppe Junior Mosca started his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics, Nanoscience and Biophysics at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid in October 2025, joining the SpinOrbitronics group. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemical Sciences from the University of Naples Federico II and previously worked as a Research Assistant in Chemical Engineering on colloidal systems. His PhD project, within the MSCA Doctoral Network NeuroNanotech, focuses on the development and characterization of magnetoresistive sensors operating in the physiological temperature range for recording neural magnetic activity.

    Domenech Mira

    Guillem Domenech Mira joined the SpinOrbitronics group as a PhD student in November 2025. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and a Master's degree in Molecular Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. His research focuses on developing reliable and versatile Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD)-based strategies for the epitaxial growth of two-dimensional materials and magnetic heterostructures, with particular emphasis on interface-driven spin-orbit phenomena for spintronic applications.

    Llerena Avei

    David Llerena Aveiga started his PhD in the SpinOrbitronics group in January 2026. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Physics in 2022 and a Master’s degree in Physics in 2025 at Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Ecuador. His current research focuses on investigating magnetic switching processes in light transition metal multilayers; exploring structural and interfacial properties for different electronic and magnetic phases, aiming to significantly reduce heavy metals and rare earths reliance in spintronics.
